Texicryl 13-300 Carboxylated acrylic copolymer Scott Bader Rheology Modifiers / Thickeners ADHESIVE >> Water-based Carboxylated acrylic copolymer used to thicken natural and synthetic lattices TEXICRYL 13-300 is an aqueous emulsion of a carboxylated acrylic copolymer for use as a thickening agent for natural and synthetic lattices. It can also be used for print bonding adhesives for non-woven fabrics and for carpet backing. TEXICRYL 13-300 is effective in bridging across latex particles and is particularly recommended for thickening most synthetic rubber lattices and their compounds. TEXICRYL 13-300 is particularly useful in thickening acrylic emulsions for use as print bonding adhesives in the production of non-woven fabrics. TEXICRYL 13-302 confers a highly pseudo-plastic rheology which minimises spreading of the print. To obtain optimum printing properties, however, it may be necessary to improve print transfer from the applicator roll by using a proportion with TEXICRYL 13-300. A 1:1 blend of the two emulsions, in most cases, gives an acceptable compromise of high thickening, low degree of print spreading and good print transfer. In most compounds based on synthetic rubber lattices, TEXICRYL 13-300 has been shown to be a more efficient thickener. This is especially true where it is used to thicken low solids backings for woven carpets where as little as 1% of TEXICRYL 13-300 may need to be added. Aqueous emulsion of a carboxylated acrylic copolymer. Used as a thickener in natural and synthetic lattices and print bonding adhesives for non-woven fabrics and for carpet backing. Provides a highly pseudo-plastic rheology which minimises spreading of the print.
