Hexane (polymerisation grade) Hydrocarbon 64742-49-0 Shell Chemicals Solvents >> Hydrocarbon, aliphatic The Shell special (low) boiling point solvents range provides a versatile group of solvents, which consist of paraffins and cycloparaffins in the C5-C8 range. Due to the way they are manufactured, including deep hydrogenation, their aromatics content is very low. Application areas for these products are in quick-drying lacquers, paints, varnishes and inks where they are used as diluents and solvents. They are also components in the preparation of tyres, rubber solutions, adhesives, cleaners, and pressure-sensitive tapes, and are used as extraction solvents in the chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. Their flash point is below 21°C, which means that safety precautions have to be taken into account. Hexane (polymerisation grade) is manufactured to the high standards required by the polymer industry. It contains about 50% n-hexane, with a similar content of other hexane isomers. Being made from hydrogenated feedstock, its aromatics and olefins content is very low. Hexane (polymerisation grade) is intended for use in polymerisation processes where a high quality product is demanded. Polymerisation grade of hexane. Consists essentially of hexane isomers. Possesses very low aromatics and olefins content.
