The DAOTAN VTW family of waterborne polyurethane dispersions meets or exceeds the performance of high quality solvent-borne urethanes in a variety of industrial applications, while offering the ability to create a low volatile organic compound (VOC) formulation (<350 grams per liter of VOC). Daotan VTW 1237 is ideally suited ideally for plastic coating because of it's high flexibility and adhesion properties. White liquid supplied at 32 % in water/N-Methylpyrrolidon (32 WANMP); neutralized with approx. 0.75 % triethylamine, as salt. Daotan VTW 1237 is a polyurethane dispersion with shear stability and pigment compatibility that cures at room temperature giving highly flexible clear crackfree films. This allows Daotan VTW 1237 to be used to formulate highly flexible coating systems, especially for coating plastics. Such systems exhibit very good adhesive properties, e.g. to polycarbonate, ABS, PUR-RIM, as well as untreated PP/EDPM. Depending on the specific requirements it can be used in basecoats and one coat systems. The adhesion to each substrate requires individual investigation. In comparison with Daotan VTW 1235 Daotan VTW 1237 only contains aliphatic groups. In addition Daotan VTW 1237 can be used together with other compatible binders (e.g. acrylic dispersion) to improve their flexibility, adhesion and durability. Low viscosity, aqueous, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion based on polyester. Provides quick drying, quick hardness development, very good durability and weatherability, good flow and leveling, high gloss, very good stability and superior mar and scratch resistance. Offers chemical and abrasion resistance, flexibility, hardness, shear stability and very good pigment compatibility. Gives very good adhesion to metal and wood substrates, to cement substrates and epoxy topcoats and primers, and very good adhesion to polycarbonate, ABS, PUR-RIM, and untreated PP/EDPM. Can be used in combination with other compatible binders such as acrylic dispersion to improve flexibility, adhesion and durability.
