The DAOTAN VTW family of waterborne polyurethane dispersions meets or exceeds the performance of high quality solvent-borne urethanes in a variety of industrial applications, while offering the ability to create a low volatile organic compound (VOC) formulation (<350 grams per liter of VOC). It dries at room temperature to clear and highly flexible films with no film disturbances. Because of these characteristics Daotan VTW 6430 is highly recommended for formulations of elastic coatings, especially for painting of plastic substrates. In combination with Daotan VTW 6420 it is possible to formulate coatings with a soft and agreeable grip, so called soft-feel paints. Such systems exhibit excellent adhesion to polycarbonate, ABS, hard PVC, PUR-RIM and pre-treated PP/EPDM blends. In every case the adhesion to the specifically used substrate has to be checked in advance. Further on Daotan VTW 6430 can serve as a combination partner for other compatible binders (e.g. acrylic dispersions). In this combinations Daotan VTW 6430 can optimise flexibility, adhesion and abrasion resistance. Low viscosity, aqueous, aliphatic polyurethane dispersion based on polyester. Provides quick drying, quick hardness development, very good durability and weatherability, good flow and leveling, high gloss, very good stability and superior mar and scratch resistance. Offers chemical and abrasion resistance, high flexibility, hardness, shear stability and high pigment compatibility. Gives very good adhesion to metal and wood substrates, to cement substrates and epoxy topcoats and primers and to polycarbonate, ABS, hard PVC, PUR-RIM and pre-treated PP/EPDM blends. Can be used in combination with other compatible binders such as acrylic dispersions to optimise flexibility, adhesion and abrasion resistance.
