Viacryl SC 108/50T Acrylic resin Solutia Acrylics/ Acrylates VIACRYL® Acrylic Copolymer Resins The VIACRYL® resin family comprises three main product classes differing in the mechanism of film formation: Thermoplastic resins, basically not containing reactive groups Thermosetting resins, reacting at elevated temperature with suitable hardeners or crosslinkers like melamine, benzoguanamine, or urea resins Self-crosslinking resins, reticulating at ambient or elevated temperature Both solvent borne and water borne VIACRYL grades are available, the latter being either primary dispersions (i.e. polymerized directly in water), or secondary emulsions (i.e. emulsified in water after polymerisation has been accomplished). VIACRYL® based coatings are used solely or in combination with other resins in the following application fields: Automotive OEM basecoats, clearcoats and pigmented topcoats Car refinishing basecoats Transportation vehicle topcoats Domestic appliances High quality industrial topcoats Primers, sealers and topcoats on wood (furniture, parquet) Masonry, decorative and architectural paints Can Coating (exterior) Road marking Paint formulations based on VIACRYL® resins have desirable performance characteristics. Depending on their momomer composition outstanding properties can be achieved in terms of: Gloss and decorative appearance Hardness Mechanical and chemical resistance Outdoor durability Thermo-stability VIACRYL SC 108/50T Thermoplastic pure acrylic resin Binder for rapid drying road marking paints. Viacryl SC 108 is designed as sole binder for rapid drying road marking paints. It is compatible with most extenders and pigments generally used for such systems with exception of basic pigments or pigments with basic surface treatment. Field trials under prevailing conditions should first be conducted to ensure suitability. Thermoplastic pure acrylic resin. Used as a sole binder. Provides gloss, hardness, mechanical and chemical resistance, outdoor durability and thermo-stability. Offers compatibility with most extenders and pigments.
