Viacryl SC 133/45WS Methacrylate resin Solutia Acrylics/ Acrylates VIACRYL® Acrylic Copolymer Resins The VIACRYL® resin family comprises three main product classes differing in the mechanism of film formation: Thermoplastic resins, basically not containing reactive groups Thermosetting resins, reacting at elevated temperature with suitable hardeners or crosslinkers like melamine, benzoguanamine, or urea resins Self-crosslinking resins, reticulating at ambient or elevated temperature Both solvent borne and water borne VIACRYL grades are available, the latter being either primary dispersions (i.e. polymerized directly in water), or secondary emulsions (i.e. emulsified in water after polymerisation has been accomplished). Sole binder or in conjunctioon with Viacryl SC 134 or plasticizers for full tone exterior wall paints with superior weather resistance. For sealing primers and swimmin-pool coatings. Viacryl SC 133 is a pure acrylate resin with medium hardness and outstanding weather resistance. Owing to the high resistance to alkali and UV-light Viacryl SC 133 is an excellent binder for exterior paints on alkali surfaces like mortar, concrete and masonery. Exterior wall paints on Viacryl SC 133 are resistant to chalking even with higher PVC-values, and moreover, with the excellent pigment wetting characteristics patchfree tinting paints and full tone paints can be formulated. In order to enhance film flexibility Viacryl SC 133 can be combined with Viacryl SC 134 or plasticizers. As distinguished from Viacryl SC 154, Viacryl SC 133 and Viacryl SC 134 are pure acrylate resins. Viacryl SC 133 is medium hard, Viacryl SC 134 is high -elastic. Thermoplastic medium hard methacrylate resin. Used as a sole binder or in conjunction with plasticizers. Provides gloss, hardness, mechanical and chemical resistance, outdoor durability and thermo-stability. Offers very rapid physical drying, superior weather resistance, very good resistance to alkali, UV-light and water, and good pigment wetting.
