Viacryl SC 134/50WS Methacrylate resin Solutia Acrylics/ Acrylates VIACRYL® Acrylic Copolymer Resins The VIACRYL® resin family comprises three main product classes differing in the mechanism of film formation: Thermoplastic resins, basically not containing reactive groups Thermosetting resins, reacting at elevated temperature with suitable hardeners or crosslinkers like melamine, benzoguanamine, or urea resins Self-crosslinking resins, reticulating at ambient or elevated temperature Both solvent borne and water borne VIACRYL grades are available, the latter being either primary dispersions (i.e. polymerized directly in water), or secondary emulsions (i.e. emulsified in water after polymerisation has been accomplished). Outstanding weather resistance. Excellent resistance to alkali and water. Excellent pigment wetting. Sole binder or in conjunctioon with Viacryl SC 133 for full tone exterior wall paints or resin mortars. Viacryl SC 134 is a soft highly flexible pure acrylate resin with superior weather resistance. Owing to the resistance to UV-light and alkali, Viacryl SC 134 is an excellent binder for alkaline substrates like mortar, concrete and masonery. Viacryl SC 134 is internally plasticized and thus a sole binder for highly pigmented mortars with durable flexibility. Viacryl SC 134 can also be used to enhance the flexbibility of tinting paints based on Viacryl SC 133. Unlike Viacryl SC 154, Viacryl SC 134 and Viacryl SC 133 are pure acrylate resins. Viacryl SC 134 is internally plasticized and thus highly flexible. Viacryl SC 133 has medium hardness. Thermoplastic flexible pure methacrylate resin. Used as a sole binder or in conjunction with other methacrylate resins. Provides gloss, hardness, mechanical and chemical resistance, outdoor durability and thermo-stability. Offers very rapid physical drying, outstanding weather resistance, very good resistance to alkali, UV-light and water, and very good pigment wetting.
