Capa 3050 TMP initiated triol Solvay Caprolactones PU - Polyols >> Caprolactone ADHESIVE >> Solvent based ADHESIVE >> Water-based CAPA® 3050 is a low molecular weight polyester triol terminated by primary hydroxyl groups. It has a molecular weight of 540 and a typical OH value of 310 mg KOH/g. It is a clear, colourless liquid, easy to process at ordinary temperatures. CAPA 3050 can be used as a dispersion medium for 'liquid colours' in surface coatings and in rigid PU castings, particularly for clear, light-stable materials. TMP initiated triol CAPA® polyols are speciality polyesters particularly suited to polyurethane elastomers and coatings systems as they have a unique blend of properties including good physical characteristics, excellent hydrolysis resistance and outstanding low temperature flexibility. They also offer significant advantages in polyurethane processing, namely consistent reactivity, low viscosity, high purity and ease of processing. Solvent Based PU's CAPA® polyols are used in the manufacture of solvent based polyurethane adhesives. They are particularly useful due to the low viscosity and high solids content that can be obtained. Typical end uses are: Bonding Shoe Soles and Uppers Laminated Packaging Textile Bonding Magnetic Tape Adhesive The benefits provided by CAPA® products are: Low viscosity polyols and polyurethanes leads to reduced solvent and VOC. Low viscosity systems aids wet out. Excellent adhesion to different substrate including leather. CAPA® polyols are aliphatic and hence are light stable. CAPA® polyols are non toxic and biodegradable. CAPA® polyester polyols provide excellent oil and UV stability. Very good hydrolysis resistance in comparison with to other polyesters. Low density in comparison with to other polyester based polyurethanes ca. 4%. Excellent low temperature properties and wide working temperature range. Outstanding tear strengths. Water Based PU's CAPA® HC grades have been developed for use in speciality water borne polyurethane dispersions. These products all contain two hydroxyl functions for reaction with isocyanates and a pendant carboxylic group which remains unchanged in this reaction and can be used to disperse the urethane. CAPA® HC grades are all low melting waxes, in comparison with DMPA which is a high melting solid. CAPA® HC grades can be used to replace all or part of DMPA in anionic polyurethane dispersions. CAPA® polyols are used as a soft segment in water borne polyurethane dispersions. These can be typically used to bond soles to uppers. The benefits provided by CAPA® products are: Good high temperature resistance Long open time Good bond strength Good hydrolysis resistance Good adhesion to leather Wide temperature performance Low molecular weight polyester triol terminated by primary hydroxyl groups. Provides low viscosity and high solids content in solvent based polyurethane adhesives. Offers very good oil and UV stability and adhesion to different substrate including leather. Used as a soft segment in water borne polyurethane dispersions. Provides good high temperature resistance, long open time, good bond strength, good hydrolysis resistance, good adhesion to leather and a wide temperature performance. Applications: bonding shoe soles and uppers, laminated packaging, textile bonding, magnetic tape adhesive.
