It has a molecular weight of 80,000 and is chemically identical to CAPA® 6800 but is supplied in powder form. The particle size is 98% < 600 microns. It is compatible with a wide range of common thermoplastics, and is soluble in several common solvents, such as aromatic hydrocarbons, halocarbons and some ketones. Caprolactone homopolymer The combination of adhesion to difficult substrates and low melting temperature enables thermoplastic grades of CAPA® to be used in speciality hot melt adhesive applications. In particular, the low melting point and low melt viscosity combine to make CAPA® hot melts suitable for use with temperature sensitive substrates. The growth in demand for reactive hot melts has also highlighted the versatility of CAPA® products where the functionality and molecular weights can be varied to maximise performance.
