Liopur 2001-177 Polyurethane Synthopol PU - Polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) >> Polyether PU ADHESIVE AUTOMOTIVE Water Soluble in organic solvent (n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) In the area of dispersions for adhesives, research at Synthopol Chemie concentrates on water-based polyurethane and pure acrylic dispersions. These are used as binders in one- and two-pack formulations in the automotive sector and in industry in general. Industrial adhesives applicationsHot lamination adhesives sector, no surface tack, cloudy film. After air drying, Liopur 2001-177 forms a transparent film with little surface tack. Because of its polymer composition, Liopur 2001-177 is permitted for uses under FDA 175/05. As a result of the cohesive behaviour of its film when dried and its good adhesion properties, Liopur 2001-177 is suitable for use on a wide range of substrates to make cold-laminated adhesives with good peel strength values. For laminations in the adhesives sector, suitable bonding temperatures are between 15 – 50°C and the contact pressures required are > 0.5 bar; optimum parameters for the application must be determined by practical tests. The thermal stability of adhesive formulations based on Liopur 2001-177 may be improved by combining them with water-emulsifiable polyisocyanates such as Desmodur DA and Hartex WB. For thickening, we recommend the use of water-based associative thickeners based on polyurethane, such as Acrysol RM8 (diluted 1:10 in water). Storage: At 23°C, the stability on storage is at least 6 months. No labelling under the regulations regarding hazardous materials is necessary. Polyurethane dispersion. Suitable for cold lamination adhesives and as binder in one- and two-pack formulations for automotive sector and industry. Possesses very low surface tack, good peel strength and produces transparent film.
