Liopur 96-055 Polyurethane Synthopol PU - Polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) >> Polyester PU ADHESIVE AUTOMOTIVE Water Soluble in organic solvent (n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) In the area of dispersions for adhesives, research at Synthopol Chemie concentrates on water-based polyurethane and pure acrylic dispersions. These are used as binders in one- and two-pack formulations in the automotive sector and in industry in general. After air-drying, film coatings based on Liopur 96-055 form transparent films. Liopur 96-055 can be adjusted to a working viscosity of 500 to 5000 mPas using commercially available acrylic thickeners such as Coatex Rheo 3000. Liopur 96-055 is suitable for the formulation of one-pack and two-pack heat-sealable adhesive formulations with adequate peel strength and very good thermal stability. A recommended pressing temperature is at least 80°C and the required contact pressure is approx. 20 bar for a few seconds. In adhesive layers with a film thickness of approx. 150 µm wet, peel strengths (climbing drum peel test at a 90° angle with a take-off speed of 100mm/min) according to DIN EN 1464 of approx. 10-20 N/cm can be achieved. Liopur 96-055 can be adjusted to a working viscosity of 500 to 5000 mPas with commercially available polyurethane thickeners such as Coatex Rheo 3000 or Acrysol RM 8 (diluted 1:10 in water). Storage: At 23°C its shelf life is at least 6 months. No labelling is required under the German Dangerous Substances Directive. Polyurethane dispersion. Suitable for hot lamination adhesives and as binder in one- and two-pack heat-sealable formulations for automotive sector and industry. Possesses low surface tack, adequate peel strength, very good thermal stability and produces transparent film.
