Benzoflex® 2-45 is industrially known for its excellent compatibility with polyvinyl acetate homopolymer and copolymer emulsions. Benzoflex® 2-45 based adhesives have excellent quick grab and set times. While this plasticizer does thicken polyvinyl acetate emulsions, the adhesives are comparatively stable. Benzoflex® 2-45 is also compatible with, and an excellent solvator for, polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Flexible vinyl formulations based on this plasticizer can be processed quicker and/or at lower temperatures than vinyls based on di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate. Benzoflex® 2-45 is also resistant to extraction from the vinyl by aliphatic and oily solvents. Benzoflex® 2-45 is compatible with a number of other polymeric materials which indicates a wide range of other possible applications for this plasticizer.
