VINAVIL 5501 P is manufactured by spray drying a copolimer dispersion under carefully defined conditions. Anti-caking agents are incorporated to make sure that powder properties are maintained during storage and processing. VINAVIL 5501 P should be mixed with dry products and stored in water resistant package. On contact with water and under the action of mechanical shear, VINAVIL 5501 P produces a stable dispersion which properties are comparable to those of the original dispersion. VINAVIL 5501 P provides excellent alkali resistance and impart hydrophobicity in cementitious mortars, for this reason it is extremely suitable for use in many exterior applications, for example grouts, repair mortars, plaster coating, exterior insulating systems and mineral plasters. The use of VINAVIL 5501 P improves the flexibility of the mortar increase the substrate adhesion, reduces water absorption into capillary pores and builds a barrier against water penetration. VINAVIL 5501 P can be used in the formulation of both adhesive and plaster coating in exterior insulation and finishing system. VINAVIL 5501 P allows to increase mixture water retention, an aspect which is very important for thin section mortar application or application on a absorbing support.
