Thanks to its high ethylene content VINAVIL 5603 P is characterized by a hight flexibility, even at low temperature, and by a good alkali resistance. These properties are transferred to its compounds. VINAVIL 5603 P is manufactured by spray drying a copolimer dispersion under carefully defined conditions. Anti-caking agents are incorporated to make sure that powder properties are maintained during storage and processing. VINAVIL 5603 P should be mixed with dry products and stored in water resistant package. On contact with water and under the action of mechanical shear, VINAVIL 5603 P produces a stable dispersion which properties are comparable to those of the original dispersion. The high flexibility of VINAVIL 5603 P can be used to good effect in tile adhesives where deformability is required, and in tile grouts. This is especially valuable where substrate movement is possible. VINAVIL 5603 P improves substrate adhesion and freeze-thaw resistance, and reduces water absorption significantly. VINAVIL 5603 P when used in mortar repairing and concrete curing assures an improvement in the workability of the formulated product, good anchoring properties onto old concrete, a better scrub resistance, and an increased flexural strength. VINAVIL 5603 P is particularly indicated for the formulation of gypsum plasters, since it improves water resistance, flexural strength and mechanical resistance of finite products. VINAVIL 5603 P allows to increase mixture water retention, an aspect which is very important for thin section mortar application or application on a absorbing support.
