Vinavil EVA 09 Vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer Vinavil Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) >> Vinyl Acetate Ethylene copolymers, VAE ADHESIVE >> Water-based VINAVIL EVA 09 is an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate - ethylene copolymer with 50% solid content, polyvinylalcohol as emulsifying system, without plasticizers and coalescing agents. VINAVIL EVA 09 is used for bonding plastic foils to wood and fibreboard. Adhesives used to bond plastic foils to absorbent substrates for automatic packaging, bookbinding, automatic lamination of paper and board with plastic and metal foils. VINAVIL EVA 09 can be modified by adding plasticizers ( dibutiphtalate) or coalescing agents (diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate). The addition of such additives can lead to an increased in viscosity of the emulsion and improves at low temperature adhesion at low temperature without notably lowering heat and creep resistance.VINAVIL EVA 09 can be formulated with a large amount of mineral fillers such as calcium carbonate and calcium sulfate dihydrate without significant performance reductions. VINAVIL EVA 09 is compatible with the components usually employed in vinyl-ethylene copolymers based aqueous adhesives such as: - acrylic and cellulosic thickeners - plasticizers such as phtalate and polymeric esters, chlorinated paraffins, triacetin - tackifiers, such as natural and modified rosin; coumarone-indene, terpene and hydrocarbon resins. Tackifiers can be added to VINAVIL EVA 09 after dissolving them in solvents (e.g. toluene, ethyl acetate, etc.) - natural rubber latex, after addition of ammonia (to approx. 9 pH), to the VINAVIL EVA 09. Vinylacetate-ethylene copolymer with polyvinyl alcohol as emulsifying system. Possesses pseudo-plastic rheological properties and good compatibility with usually employed components in vinyl-ethylene copolymers based aqueous adhesives (acrylic and cellulosic thickeners, plasticizers, rosins, terpene and hydrocarbon resins, natural rubber latex, mineral fillers...). Provides very good adhesion to plastic materials and good creep, heat and low temperature resistance. Applications: bonding plastic foils to wood, fibreboard and absorbent substrates for automatic packaging, bookbinding, automatic lamination of paper and board with plastic and metal foils.
