Vinavil EVA 4612 Vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer Vinavil Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) >> Vinyl Acetate Ethylene copolymers, VAE ADHESIVE >> Water-based VINAVIL EVA 4612 is an anionic - non ionic aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, free of plasticizers, coalescing agents, nonylphenol ethoxylate and with a very low free monomer content. VINAVIL EVA 4612 is used to formulate indoor/outdoor emulsion paints, even at high PVC levels, showing a very good wet scrub resistance. It can also be used to prepare wall textured coatings, glazed emulsion paints and plasters. VINAVIL EVA 4612 being a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, the presence of ethylene gives a low film forming temperature, even without coalescing agents, and high film strength. The amount of ethylene has been calculated to obtain both, a low value of the film forming temperature, and a low tackiness, together with a good alkali resistance. VINAVIL EVA 4612 shows a pseudoplastic behaviour that grants good application characteristics to the emulsion paints based on it. VINAVIL EVA 4612 is fully compatible with all the components used to prepare emulsion paints and specifically to the titanates, for preparing the “jelly paints”, thanks to the presence of cellulose ethers in the colloid stabilized binder that acts as structuring agent in emulsion paints. Considering these features, this dispersion has been specially designed for low VOC odourless paints. The low temperature (e.g. + 5°C) application of paintings can be improved by adding small quantities (e.g. 1% on the dispersion) of a coalescing agent. The peculiar particle size distribution allows to obtain at the same time a high hiding power, and a high white index. Vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer. Possesses a very low free monomer content and high film strength. Used for heat seal adhesives. Provides very good mechanical stability and light resistance.
