Vinavil EVA 471-R Vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer Vinavil Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) >> Vinyl Acetate Ethylene copolymers, VAE ADHESIVE >> Water-based VINAVIL EVA 471-R is an anionic aqueous dispersion of a vinylacetate-ethylene copolymer, self crosslinkable, without plasticizer and nonylphenol surfactants, with a low free formaldehyde and VOC content. VINAVIL EVA 471-R is a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, with medium soft handle, suitable as a binder for nonwovens and waddings. It shows a good capability as a thermo-curing resin especially when it is used with catalysts or other crosslinkable resins. This product is also suitable to laminate fabric to fabric, fabric to plastic sheets, etc. for clothes, bags, etc. VINAVIL EVA 471-R may be applied by spreading, spraying, impregnation, or as foam. The foam can be increased by adding foaming agents and/or foam stabilizers. Crosslinkage VINAVIL EVA 471-R is thermo-crosslinkable: the addition of 0.1÷1% of a catalyst such as citric acid, diammonium phosphate or ammonium chloride, increases the crosslinkability and accelerates the curing process; the optimum crosslinking condition is achieved in a convection forced air oven, at 150°C for 1 minute. Crosslinking gives the film very good water and chlorinated solvents resistance and improves its mechanical strength. Thickening VINAVIL EVA 471-R is compatible with commonly used thickeners such as celluloses, polyacrylic acid derivatives, polyurethanes, etc. The effectiveness and compatibility should always be tested. We recommend to only use ammonia to adjust the pH, to avoid the inhibition of the curing process. Compatibility with additives VINAVIL EVA 471-R is compatible with plasticizers, defoaming agents, reactive resins, e.g. melamine resins, fillers and pigments usually used in the manufacturing processes: compatibility should always be tested. We recommend to only use neutral pH fillers and pigments to avoid the inhibition of the crosslinking reaction. Vinylacetate-ethylene copolymer. Possesses good thermocrosslinkability, low free formaldehyde and VOC content, good capability as a thermo-curing resin and good compatibility. Provides very good water and chlorinated solvents resistance and improves mechanical strength.
