Vinnapas RE 5010 N Vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer Wacker Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) >> Vinyl Acetate Ethylene copolymers, VAE ADHESIVE SEALANT >> Putty Vinnapas® RE 5010 N is a water-redispersible vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer powder that exhibits good resistance to saponification. This redispersible powder is especially recommended for blending with inorganic binders such as cement, anhydrite, gypsum and hydrated lime, or as a sole binder for making construction adhesives, wall and floor levelling compounds, joint fillers, plasters and re-pair mortars. Vinnapas RE 5010 N enhances the adhesion, flex- ural strength, plasticity, abrasion resistance and work- ability of modified compounds without appreciably af- fecting flow, thixotropy or water retention. It is there- fore compatible with mortar additives used to achieve special processing characteristics. This redispersible powder contains a fine mineral filler as antiblocking agent. It is free of solvents, plasticizers and film-forming aids. Tile and construction adhesives For hydraulic, thin-bed tile adhesives with good frost resistance, we recommend using 30 – 50 % cement, 50 – 70 % quartz sand, 1 – 4 % Vinnapasâ RE 5010 N and 0.15 - 0.50 % of a high-viscosity grade of cellulose ether (rendered non-slump, if re- quired) and, if necessary, organic fibres to reduce slump.To obtain adhesives that exhibit high plasticity even at very low temperatures (< 0°C), we recom- mend using Vinnapas® RE 5044 N, RE 547 and LL 5050. Adhesives for external insulation and finishing systems (EIFS) Hydraulic, powdery adhesives for external insulation and finish systems should contain 25 – 45 % cement, 4 – 6 % Vinnapas® RE 5010 N and 0.1 – 0.3 % of a cellulose derivative. Expanded polystyrene sheets recommended for this purpose are suitable for use with these adhesives. However, if sheets have been cut by hot wire, ensure that the surface is not too badly sintered. It is important to carry out preliminary tests on sheets of extruded polystyrene foam. To obtain flexible, powder reinforcing compounds, we recommend using Vinnapas® RE 5044 N, RE 5034 N and LL 5050, combined with a hydrophobic grade like RI 554 Z or RI 541 Z if necessary. Interior trowelling compounds, putties and joint fillers Other organic binders such as polyvinyl alcohol, starch ether and cellulose ether are needed in ad-dition to Vinnapas® RE 5010 N in these products. Depending on the degree of strength required, 2 – 15 % redispersible powder should be added. Solvent-free, plasticizer-free, film-forming aid-free, water-redispersible vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer powder. Used for blending with inorganic binders such as cement, anhydrite, gypsum and hydrated lime, or as a sole binder for making construction and tile adhesives, adhesives for external insulation and finishing systems and putties. Offers good saponification resistance. Enhances adhesion, flexural strength, plasticity, abrasion resistance and workability without appreciably affecting flow, thixotropy or water retention. Contains a fine, mineral filler as antiblocking agent and polyvinyl alcohol as stabilizer.
