Vinnapas RE 5012 T Vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer Wacker Ethylene copolymers - emulsions (VAE, EVC) ADHESIVE Vinnapas® RE 5012 T is a water-redispersible vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer powder with good saponification resistance. This redispersible powder is particularly suitable for blending with inorganic binders such as cement, an-hydrite, gypsum and hydrated lime, and as a sole binder for the manufacture of construction adhesives, wall surfacers and plasters. Vinnapas® RE 5012 T improves adhesion, flexural strength, plasticity, abrasion resistance and workability of modified compounds such as construction adhesives, trowelling compounds and finishing plasters. Combined with cement or gypsum, it exhibits high thixotropy, a property of particular interest for construction adhesives, wall surfacers and cement and lime-cement finishing plasters. Vinnapas® RE 5012 T contains a fine, mineral filler as antiblocking agent. It is free of solvents, plasticizers and film-forming aids. Tile and construction adhesives To make tile adhesives based on hydraulic cement that exhibit good resistance to frost, we recommend using 40 – 50% cement, 1 – 4% Vinnapas® RE 5012 T, 0.2 – 0.4% cellulose ether or other appro-priate cellulose derivatives as water retention agent and about 50 – 60% quartz sand (grain size: 0.2 – 0.4 mm). Vinnapas® RE 5012 T imparts excellent non-slump and non-slip properties to these adhesives. Cellulose ethers and cellulose derivatives with high water retentivity but without enhanced thixotropy can therefore be used. If good plasticity at very low temperatures (< 0°C) is desired, we recommend adding Vinnapas® RE 5044 N or LL 5050. Adhesives for external insulation and finishing systems (EIFS) Hydraulic, powdery adhesives for external insulation and finish systems should contain 25 – 45% cement, 4 – 6% RE 5012 T and 0.1 – 0.3% of a suitable water retention agent such as cellulose ether. Expanded polystyrene sheets can be bonded exceptionally wellwith these adhesives. However, if sheets have been cut by hot wire, ensure that the surface is not too badly sintered. It is important to carry out preliminary tests on sheets of extruded polystyrene foam. To obtain a flexible reinforcing compound in powder form, we recommend Vinnapas® RE 5044 N, RE 5034 N and LL 5050, blended if necessary with RE 530 Z. Solvent-free, plasticizer-free, film-forming aid-free, water-redispersible vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer powder. Used for blending with inorganic binders such as cement, anhydrite, gypsum and hydrated lime, and as a sole binder for making construction and tile adhesives and adhesives for external insulation and finishing systems. Offers good saponification resistance. Improves adhesion, flexural strength, plasticity, abrasion resistance and workability. Contains a fine, mineral filler as antiblocking agent and polyvinyl alcohol as stabilizer. Possesses high thixotropy.
