Edward M. Petrie received his BS in Chemical Engineering and MS in Polymer Science from Carnegie-Mellon University and his MBA from Duquesne University. He began his career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation’s Research Center in the Polymers and Plastics Department. His last corporate assignment was Program Manager in ABB Corporate Research. As a specialist in all areas of adhesion and adhesives, Mr. Petrie served as technical consultant to both end-users and formulators in the operating divisions of Westinghouse and ABB. He, therefore, has seen many diverse applications, problems, and opportunities relative to adhesive bonding. Currently, Mr. Petrie is an independent consultant.

Mr. Petrie is author of the Handbook of Adhesives and Sealants published by McGraw-Hill in October, 2000 and Polymeric Materials and Processes: a Concise Encyclopedia to be published by John Wiley & Sons in 2003. He has written numerous papers on adhesive bonding including chapters in several Handbooks. He holds seven patents. Mr. Petrie also serves the Society of Plastics Engineers and several universities as a seminar instructor in the areas of polymeric materials and adhesives.

As a specialist in adhesion, Pierre Dalet is in charge of R&D department with Rescoll, French independent technological center involved in polymeric chemistry, adhesives, adhesive bonding and any related field.
Besides his responsibilities in new product and application development and technical watch, Pierre acts as a leader of diverse R&D projects, managing his own and customer's technical teams. Pierre leads also numerous consulting missions helping optimize customers' production process.

Pierre received his degree in Chemical Engineering from University in Bordeaux with a major in Organic and Physical Chemistry. His final thesis was dedicated to Correlations macromolecular structures - adhesion and focusing on topics such as Surface energy, macromolecular synthesis.
Pierre holds two patents and is author of numerous articles published in specialized technical magazines and university papers.

Andrew Extance received his MChem in Chemistry from the University of Southampton in 1999. After graduation he worked for Tripos, performing laboratory-based contract research and development based upon the application of sophisticated molecular modelling techniques. More recently he has worked as a development and technical support chemist at ACC Silicones. Since March 2007 Andrew has been working as a full-time science journalist covering the development and manufacture of electronic devices, and consequently is the author of many published articles.
