  • Better understand this complex legislation,

  • Be able to identify and avoid potential issues,

  • Be aware of your obligations and responsibilities
  • 5 reasons to attend this online course:
Reason 1 Benefit from Rob Veraart's strong position as a scientist skilled in food contact materials and migration issues at Keller and Heckman.

Reason 2 Get an overview of the current situation of food contact materials

Reason 3 Receive explanations on how the compliance can be demonstrated

Reason 4 Get guidance regarding paperwork (certificates, declaration of compliance, supporting documentation)

Reason 5 Be aware of future developments regarding food contact legislation
All materials that are in contact with food in the EU must be in compliance with the food contact legislation. Because the food contact legislation is not fully harmonized at EU level, national legislation also exist in areas not covered by harmonized provisions. As a result, food contact materials and articles must comply with both EU and national legislation. Because national legislation differs from one Member State to another and from one type of food contact material to another, the regulatory framework is far from being straightforward. It is therefore extremely important for liability reasons that operators involved in the supply of food contact materials be fully aware of their obligations and responsibilities.

Our expert Rob Veraart has put together this online course to clarify EU and national legislation regarding food contact materials and to help you be compliant.

Dr. Veraart has worked to demonstrate compliance of a wide variety of food contact materials with the legislation of the EU, national legislation and FDA's Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act at the research institute TNO Quality of Life in The Netherlands. He is now working as a scientist at Keller and Heckman, a regulatory consulting firm, on FDA, member state and EU food contact opinion letters, EU dossiers for new food contact materials, and test protocols to develop appropriate data to support opinions and dossiers.
