Optimum cure
State of vulcanization at which a desire property value or combination of property values is obtained.

Open time

Syn. Green time

Optical brightener
Additive imparting pure to bluish brightness to polymers and intensifying the degree of whiteness in ready-to-use white pigmented adhesives; its function is based on the fluorescence effect.
Syn. Fluorescent whitening agent

Overcure
State of vulcanization beyond the state of optimum cure.
Note: Overcure is generally caused by too long a time or too high a temperature of vulcanization or post vulcanization, or both, or a surplus of vulcanizing agents.
