ADCO Global Opens New Plant in China

ADCO Global announced that its Kömmerling subsidiary has opened its new production plant in Nanjing, China. The plant will manufacture sealants and adhesives for the Insulating Glass (IG), solar photovoltaic, structural glazing and transportation markets in China and Asia.

AkzoNobel to be the Primary Supplier to Walmart

HID Global and UPM Raflatac Sign Worldwide License Agreement for RFID Sealing Label Technology

HID Global and UPM Raflatac announced a worldwide technology license agreement that enables UPM Raflatac to incorporate HID Global's tamperproof and secure RFID sealing label technology and IP into their contactless product family. As per the agreement UPM Raflatac will incorporate the licensed technology into tamperproof RFID sealing tags for liquid containers.

Researchers Develop Dry Adhesive from Gecko Feet to Help in Robotic Motions

Rhodia , ENSL and ECNU Signed an Agreement to Strengthen Green Chemistry

Specialty chemical producer Rhodia, the French National Center for Scientific Research, the Ecole Normale Superieure of Lyon and the East China Normal University of Shanghai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their scientific collaboration focused on "green" chemistry. This agreement aims to develop common research on materials and processes based on eco-design principles and renewable raw materials.

ACC Forms New Panel to Support Needs of the Formaldehyde Industry

NSF International Verifies BASF's Micro Surfacing Eco-efficiency Analysis

Chemists Discover How Oysters Bond Together to Form Massive Reef Complexes

With a growing awareness of oysters' critical roles filtering water, preventing erosion, guarding coasts from storm damage, and providing habitat for other organisms, researchers have been investigating how oyster reefs form in order to better understand the organisms and offer potential guidance to oyster re-introduction projects. The Researchers from Purdue University and the University of South Carolina have shown that oysters produce a unique adhesive material for affixing themselves to each other.

Singapore’s Nanotechnology Consortium Develops Unique Method to Create Multi-Role Surfaces

IMRE scientists have used the method, called Nanoimprint Technology (NIT) which involves making uniform, nanometer-sized structures to create a specifically patterned surface that produces a unique property. Using this method, adhesives that do not leave sticky residues, waterproof and anti-bacterial surfaces for everyday use, can be produced without using chemicals.
