The opening presentation at the combined ASC/ASI sponsored conference on "Doing Business in China" describes the current market and future outlook for adhesives and sealants in China. Market opportunities and entry strategies are presented as well as some of the barriers and challenges a new entrant may encounter.

Waterborne adhesives were at one time thought to be the answer to eliminating solvent from adhesive formulations. As time continued, new waterborne developments did not exactly satisfy that need. Now with the recent introduction of new polymers, waterborne adhesives are gaining new respect. This presentation opened the ASC waterborne Short Course and describes the strengths and weaknesses of waterborne adhesives and their outlook in the 21st Century.

The auto aftermarket has not really been studied in depth. The luncheon presentation at the AAIA combined meeting in 2004 compares both the adhesive and coating developments that are a part of this important yet little known segment of the U.S. auto industry.

Epoxy adhesives have been around for over 50 years. The Epoxy Resin Formulators-Division of SPI, have formed a separate organization. This presentation was given at the TRFA inaugural meeting. It describes the market and outlook for epoxies as adhesives.
