Chemistry of PVP
Under the name Luvitec®, BASF offers a wide range of vinylpyrrolidone homopolymers and copolymers with different molecular weights. The Luvitec® K grades are homopolymers of vinylpyrrolidone, the Luvitec® VA grades are copolymers of vinylpyrrolidone and vinylacetate monomers.
The products are available in powder form or in aqueous solutions. Since the high molecular weight Luvitec® powder products in particular are very sensitive as regards to the reduction of molecular weight, the powders are filled under an inert gas atmosphere.
An elaborate packaging guarantees storage stability of the powder product in the original container at room temperature for at least 2 years. |
